If you’re like me, you don’t start thinking about holiday baking until….oh, about December 20th, which coincidentally, is the last day of work for 2013. Each year, I have grand plans on doing all kinds of baking and homemade gift making, but each year, I get sidetracked by the fact that I work 5, sometimes 6, days a week.
When it came to holiday baking, my Mom cornered the market. She would always make homemade cinnamon rolls to give as gifts. She also made the best holiday cookies. They were these little pecan rolled cookies that were baked and then rolled in powdered sugar. I’m currently bartering with my ESMIL for some pecans. She’s sending me pecans and I’m baking. That’s our barter.
I have some holiday cookbooks but can never seem to find recipes that I like – or that have been taste tested and approved. The photos are all so pretty, but when you get to reading the actual ingredients – yeah, there is no way my family would eat some of the “sweet treats”. I am going to try 3 new sweet treat recipes this Christmas holiday (which for me will extend until January 5th! Yippeeeee) and would love if you would link up your favorites!
